Hi, we are Handprint Games, a game development start-up based in Glasgow. Over the past couple of months, we have been working hard to get everything ready here at the Handprint Games office and we are very proud and excited to finally introduce ourselves to the world, so here we go!
After studying Accounting and Finance together at Strathclyde University in Glasgow, we, Gary and Jamie – the co-founders of Handprint Games – took the logical next step and began training to become chartered accountants, specialising in audit. We realised fairly early on, however, that we were spending most of our limited free time discussing game ideas. With that, we made the decision to put all of our efforts into something that truly excited us: coming up with ideas that we think will make the world a more fun place to live in.
Our first game, Spot & Change, was released on iOS a couple of years ago. It was a social twist on the classic “Spot the Difference”, which allowed players to create their own puzzles and share them with friends.
After releasing our first game, we were ready for the next chapter and moved into our new office in Glasgow’s Whisky Bond, a former distillery warehouse turned into collaborative workspace, where we are surrounded by some of the city’s most exciting creative businesses. From our small but cosy office overlooking the canals, the Handprint Games team started to grow.
Fast forward a few months and we have now built a small team of talented individuals who will be working hard to bring you lots of fun and challenging games. Sean (left) is our Game Developer, followed by Digital Marketing Executive Romy, our talented Artist Josh, and Zeus the dog.
We have several exciting games in the pipeline and we can’t wait to share them with you. As we want to get everyone involved rather than develop our games behind closed doors, we will regularly and openly be sharing our progress, inspirations, concept art, and lots of other cool stuff on our social media channels and of course on this blog. We hope you will follow us on this journey as we have some very exciting progress updates and launch announcements to share over the next couple of months!
