We realise that we have been a bit more quiet lately, so we thought it was high time for a brief update on what is happening around 3EALITY. It has been over a month ago now since we released the game and we are so happy with how well it has been received. From the UK to Russia and from Thailand to Spain, we suddenly saw 3EALITY popping up on websites everywhere! Articles on Pocketgamer and TouchArcade, among others, gave us lots of valuable feedback and the past couple of weeks have seen a lot of hard work on our first major update for the game. We wanted to give you a quick overview of some of the gameplay improvements and new features that you can expect, so let’s start!
A ‘De Ja Vu’ Bar – Revive Meta’s alters!
We knew that this was something we wanted to introduce into the game soon after releasing it, and we are so happy to announce that it’s finally coming! As Harry (very correctly) puts it in his review of 3EALITY, having to keep an eye on 3 different screens is “stressful fun”, but the game might lose this element of excitement when you are down to one screen. We thought long and hard about how we could ensure that the game doesn’t lose its stressful excitement and came up with a “De Ja Vu” bar. When Meta has collected enough energy to fill up the power bar below, she is able to revive her alters and bring them back into the game. No more getting high scores by just keeping one alive for as long as you can, so start working on those multitasking skills!
Save alters when you keep everyone on your screen alive!
As her alters are key in opposing against and distracting Intellegion, you will now be able to track how many of them you have been able to save across all the different realities. We wanted to create something that kept things a little more interesting for those who are able to keep everyone alive – those multitasking pros – so you can only see this when all 3 of the alters on your screen are still in the game. It’s a bit difficult to explain, but don’t worry, you’ll be able to see soon enough!
Other gameplay improvements
Besides these two major new features, our previous update has already introduced some minor gameplay improvements that we think make the game a lot easier to play. A new warning system now flashes in bright pink when an enemy or obstacle is about to appear, while a power-up meter lets you track when a power-up (shock, shield, or anti-gravity) will run out.
Our new update for 3EALITY is NOW LIVE! We hope that the new features and gameplay improvements will make you enjoy the game even more, but if there is anything else that you would like to see or you think would improve the game, then be sure to let us know!
Until next time,
The Handprint Games team
